The International Equine Infectious Diseases Conference (IEIDC) occurs every four years in a different country each time. The series began in 1966 in Stresa, Italy and focuses on hot topics and trends of infectious diseases in all species of equids. The conference provides a unique opportunity for equine scientists and veterinarians from around the world to meet and discuss recent advances and ongoing challenges in this field.
Other previous meeting locations include Paris, France (1969 and 1979), Lyon, France (1976), Lexington, KY, USA (1987 and 2012), Cambridge, United Kingdom (1991), Tokyo, Japan (1994) and Dubai, United Arab Emirates (1998).
The International Committee is comprised of members from nine countries who are committed to continue the conference every four years.
